Kim Kardashian exposes ‘toxic’ patterns in marriage with Kanye West

Kim Kardashian opens up about ex-husband Kanye West stunting her growth

Kim Kardashian has had the chance to grow out of her insecurities after her divorce because of the negative impact of her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West.

The 44-year-old reality star recalled that her mom Kris Jenner told her that “the coming years would be the best of [her] life” when she turned 40.

The next year, she ended up filing for divorce and it brought a surge of confidence, as she said “Only over the past three or four years have I gained this confidence,” on her interview with Vogue.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star continued, “Before, I constantly needed to check with someone before making a decision. Can you imagine? It’s crazy to rely so much on others’ opinions.”

However, years later, “Today, I know exactly what I want. It’s exhilarating,” said the SKIMS founder.

While Kardashian did not explicitly name the Carnival rapper, this was not the first time she hinted at the toxic aspects of their relationship.

During a panel discussion in 2018, she said, “I always thought I had really good style — until I met my husband and he told me that I had the worst style.”

Once on her family’s reality show in 2012, she shared, “Our whole trade-off was that if I got rid of my clothes, he’d fill up my closet.”
