Grimes spoke out for Selena Gomez and fired back at the social media debate about her appearance.
The 37-year-old Canadian singer took to X and penned a lengthy message condemning the discussion over women’s appearance on the internet.
The Oblivion hitmaker wrote, “How do we not utterly morally castigate someone who has a post like this blows up and chooses to keep the clout at the expense of everybodies mental health. How do u think little girls feel reading stuff like this about another woman?”
Grimes continued, “It shud not be ok to do high school level bullying. Accounts shud be suspended for body shaming en masse. This is disturbing – in part because it’s not even true if u actually watch the [In the Dark] video.”
The post was met with a lot of support, as social media users agreed with the singer, advocating for efforts to take against bullying.
However, some comments still maintained that the negative comments about Gomez’s cosmetic procedures are only critiquing the Botox and filler treatments and not the Disney alum herself.
The conversation around the Lose You to Love Me hitmaker began when she released the music video of her new song, In The Dark, in which she seemed to be looking a bit different.
